Arizona Legislative District 1 representatives stay connected

By Heather Maxwell, PCED Executive Director Anthem Area Chamber of Commerce

The Anthem Area Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual Legislative Town Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 17. Hosted in partnership with the Anthem Community Council, the event will be held at the Anthem Civic Building, 3701 W. Anthem Way.

The Town Hall welcomes back Legislative District 1 representatives Senate President Karen Fann and House Representatives Noel Campbell and Steve Pierce to discuss with their constituents the legislation passed in the 2019 session and what is on the horizon for the 2020 session.

“We appreciate the chamber giving us the opportunity to connect with our constituents and business owners in the Anthem Area,” Fann says.

Audience write-in questions covering topics of interest to business owners and residents will be accepted until 7 p.m. Anthem attorney and business owner Sam Crump will moderate the panel discussion with the representatives. Crump is a former Arizona state representative and serves on the Anthem Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

The chamber is working on several leadership programs and initiatives to develop tomorrow’s business and community leaders. The chamber’s Leadership Committee, chaired by former Kingman Mayor John Salem, also a local businessman, will hold focus group meetings with members on August 8 and August 12 to determine content for future leadership programs and events.

“The Town Hall in September will provide an avenue to connect our elected officials to the members and residents they represent,” Salem says.

The Town Hall is open to the public and local business and community leaders, educators and residents are encouraged to attend.
